The Polynesian is the ultimate ode to Tiki. Led by global Tiki apostle Brian Miller, a veteran craft bartender of more than two decades, cocktails at The Polynesian tap into the history of Tiki and honor its progenitors, Trader Vic and Don the Beachcomber, while also celebrating contemporary Tiki idols. The Polynesian team scoured historic Tiki menus to create elevated nostalgic favorites, as well as original creations for the extensive cocktail menu. The Polynesian explores Tiki well beyond rum, featuring drinks with gin, bourbon, scotch and tequila. It's design pays homage to the heritage and indigenous art forms of Oceania’s treasured past that originally inspired Tiki culture. Ceilings of timber beams and bamboo slating, modeled after traditional island huts, form the architecture of the space, while the decorations takes inspiration from original Polynesian arts and craftwork. The large outdoor tiki garden and bar overlooks Time Square, and is the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon. The Polynesian is unprecedented in ambition and scope, honoring Tiki’s past and reinvigorating it for generations to come.
